Last night on my way home I stopped by a park to watch the birds come in for the evening. There are several hundred birds that spend the night on this small island. There are normally several Iguana's spending time with these birds also but I did not see any this time.

This morning I went for a ride on my motorcyle and took some photos along the beach. I came along the police recovering a raft. It is amazing how people go out to sea in a raft like this.

Yesterday I was in Key Largo for the afternoon and came back this morning. It was a clear evening but there were clouds in the distance that prevented me from getting a photo of the sun hitting the horizon.

Some more photos of the hotel. This a shot looking at the hotel lobby from the other side of the bar. It was a stainless bar with blue lights. the other shot is from the other side of the bar at the sushi bar. I took these photos at 5 am, the only time the bar was empty.

This evening I went to the Panama Canal. What a sight. What's amazing about the locks is that there are not any pumps, the water is gravity fed from freshwater lakes. It takes less than fifteen minutes to fill or drain one set of locks. Some of the freighters are known as panamax freighters. These freighters are built as wide as they can be to still fit in the locks. The freighter in these photos has about six inches of clearance on either side. The small rail cars on either side are used to keep the freighters centered and to pull it through the canal.
